THE HEALING QUILT
This one of a kind quilt is made with shot cotton and kona cotton on the quilt front, and mostly linen on the quilt back. The back also includes a spirit piece made from a favorite jersey cotton t-shirt.
Quilt measures 78 inches x 72 inches.
Entirely hand quilted with cotton Japanese sashiko thread.
The batting is made from pure wool and is super cozy and warm.
The border is hand stitched using a double binding technique that ensures the edges of your quilt are well protected.
This quilt is so special to me and to the family who commissioned it. I was contacted by a wife whose husband is terminally ill with cancer. She wanted to give him something to keep him comforted. Her only request was to embroider a red heart on the back with the letter "R" in the middle. I offered for her to also include a spirit piece, perhaps one of his favorite t-shirts. She sent me his Catfish Cookout shirt, and I included it in a sea of linen.
