Yabane (矢羽根) Quilt
This handcrafted quilt is made from 100% pure hand dyed indigo linen with a wool batting. This is a whole cloth quilt, meaning there is no piecing, the design is purely the hand quilted sashiko pattern. The back is a similar solid indigo, just slightly lighter in color.
Entirely hand quilted using Japanese sashiko cotton thread. The border is hand stitched using a double binding technique so the edge of your quilt is well protected. Quilt measures 70 inches x 50 inches.
Yabane means 'arrows' in Japanese. Because an arrow shot from a bow flies straight and fast toward a target, the motif symbolizes forging directly toward your goals.
The fabric is upcycled from indigo tablecloths made for my wedding. I wanted a no-waste wedding, and this is a result of that dream.
